Book your smile assessment with one of MOG's Specialist Orthodontists & maximise your claim period.

Many people are surprised to learn that their health insurance does not fully cover the cost of braces.

Orthodontics is usually an optional extra, carries a lifetime dollar value limit, and can be subject to annual claim limits too.

If you are starting your orthodontic journey or have a child who may need treatment, it is worthwhile discussing the cover and claim process with your health insurance fund in advance to ensure that you maximise your benefits over your treatment time.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are Insurance yearly & lifetime limits?

Your yearly limit is the amount you receive from your health fund each year.

Your lifetime limit is the amount you receive over the lifetime of your membership.

If you have been a member of another Health Fund, and you have received benefits for Orthodontics, these will count towards your Lifetime Limit as they transfer between funds. A claim with one insurance fund will count towards your lifetime limit if you change funds or level of cover during your treatment.

In some instances, your Yearly limit for Orthodontics is combined with your yearly limit for Major Dental.

How much will my treatment cost?

Treatment costs vary from person to person based on the treatment required and the appliances that are used to achieve the agreed result.

When you visit MOG for a free consultation, your orthodontist will discuss your treatment plan with you and provide you with a written quotation of the fee to undertake the treatment recommended. This fee will include fitting appliances, adjustment appointments throughout the term of your treatment, removal, and observation post treatment.

At your consultation, your orthodontist can give you an informed estimate of the required treatment and cost after examining your teeth.

Do you have a payment plan?

Here at MOG, we do our best to make the cost of treatment as affordable as possible.

You can take advantage of our interest-free payment plans – there are no messy third party contracts to establish, simply an agreement between you and MOG to spread the cost of your treatment over the estimated treatment time – making incremental payments is much more affordable than one lump sum.

We will work hard to help you receive the maximum benefit from your health insurance. Orthodontics is a wonderful investment with lifelong returns.

Are your orthodontists Registered Specialists with the Dental Board of Australia?

All of the orthodontists at MOG have met the requirements of Specialist Registration with the Dental Board.

This includes completing the requirements for registration as a dentist (an undergraduate degree requiring five years full time study) followed by a further three years of full time specialist training in orthodontics.
