A/Prof Jonathan Rooke is a valued partner at MOG Orthodontics, dedicating over a decade to our practice. He is passionate about utilizing the full spectrum of orthodontic techniques to create stunning smiles for his patients.
Throughout his career, Jono, as he is affectionately known, has nurtured a unique passion for teaching and mentoring. He commenced his teaching journey at Sydney University early in his dental career and taught oral surgery to dental students during his time in the UK. Jonathan holds the position of Associate Professor at La Trobe University, where he is the discipline lead of orthodontic teaching, helping to shape the next generation of dental professionals.
In addition to his teaching commitments, Jono volunteers his time to various projects. He serves as the Chair of the national charity “Give A Smile” and holds the position of President for the Stonnington & Port Phillip region of the Australian Dental Association. He has also contributed to humanitarian efforts, teaching English in Cambodia and supporting homeless charities in Melbourne and Brisbane.
Jonathan’s contributions to the dental profession were recently recognised when he received a Fellowship from the Pierre Fauchard Academy, an international dental honorary organisation that acknowledges leaders in the dental field.
Beyond his career, Jono strives to maintain a balanced life. When not at work, he keeps active with pursuits such as cross-fit, skiing, surfing, and occasional yoga sessions. Basketball is his true passion, and he enjoys playing socially. He closely follows the NBL and NBA. Don’t hold it against him, but Jono is also an enthusiastic Hawks member and loves it when he can make it to a game at the MCG.
