You understand the options, you trust your orthodontist, and you have decided that it is time to take the plunge.
At your first visit you would have been given a quote form that also outlines your payment options. At MOG we do not expect your full payment upfront, but allow you to break it into manageable chunks over the course of your treatment. There are no external contracts and if at any stage you wish to make additional payments you have the flexibility to do so.
We try to make sure all our potential patients have access to the opportunity of the long-term benefits of well aligned jaws and teeth and a confident smile.
Records visit
Now we’re ready to rock’n’roll!
You will have an appointment with one of our auxiliaries who will take photos of your teeth and face in various poses. Don’t worry, it’s not for Australia’s next top model…just so we can monitor progress and clearly record the starting point of your treatment journey.
If dental impressions are required, our dental auxiliary will let you know.
We use a soft jelly-like impression material into a mould that goes over your teeth for around 30 seconds to a minute. We use this to make a study model.
You may also be sent off to a radiology clinic to get X-rays if you don’t already have them. If you have a medicare card the X-rays are bulk billed in most situations, so there won’t be any out of pocket cost to you.
The X-rays will be sent back to us to analyze and help formulate your treatment. Your orthodontist will discuss the results of the X-rays, with you, at your next appointment.
Just to be sure…
So now we can really see what’s going on. We have a beautiful study model of your teeth that we can examine, without saliva and cheeks getting in the way. We have some X-rays that show what’s going on behind the scenes and we are ready to formulate a final plan.
This is when we make your banding and follow-up appointments. It’s really happening now!
