What are those little TAD screws for?

Temporary Anchorage Devices – AKA TADs are small titanium screws that we place in your jaw to assist with tooth movement. These clever little devices allow us to move your teeth in ways that often avoids the need for more complex treatment, extractions or additional appliance therapy depending on your individual circumstances.

Movement of teeth that used to be really tricky ~ if not impossible ~ is now possible using TADs, and the best part is that it is a very simple procedure that takes only a few minutes.

Mini screws will generally be in place for several months (sometimes longer) depending on the amount of tooth movement we need to achieve. We will remove the screw when it is no longer required in a quick and painless procedure that takes about 10 seconds.
