When you first visit MOG we will show you to our brushing station and ask that you give your teeth a nice clean, we’re really not that concerned with what you ate for your last snack and it will give us an idea of how good you are at cleaning too!
Once you are seated comfortably in our dental exam room your orthodontist will have a look around your mouth, take some measurements, ask you to bite together, count your teeth and see what’s what in there.
We will sit with you and explain our assessment of your treatment options. There are many different treatment options we need to consider.
Sometimes it is straight forward – braces or invisalign.
Other times there may be further decisions to make – extractions, growth therapy, plates ….
If you have any X-rays remember to bring them with you as they will provide a complete picture of what is happening under those layers of skin and gum.
This can be a lot of information to take in, so we encourage you to think about what we have said, ask any questions and take notes. We will give you a quote form that outlines our treatment plan, the required deposit, and the installments, so you can see clearly what you need to budget for.
Now that your head is spinning, you can go home and think about it all. Sometimes you will have extra questions or need more information, or maybe you just forgot what an appliance is! You can call us or email at any time.
